Borussia Dortmund v Bayern Munich LIVE 25 MAY 2013 FINAL UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE

Borussia Dortmund v Bayern Munich
Football : Champions League Final
Venue: Wembley Stadium - London
Saturday 25th May – Kickoff time: 20:45 GMT+1

Borussia Dortmund

Thanks to a superb European campaign Borussia Dortmund is now just one step away from repeating their 1997 triumph in their only previous UCL final appearance.

Road to the final
Jurgen Klopp’s squad were drawn against some tough opponents in the group stages, but cruised through the group of death without losing a game which gave them a lot of confidence.

Things only got tougher in the quarter-finals for Borussia where they miraculously eliminated Malaga thanks to two added time goals before knocking out Real Madrid in the semis after a superb first leg performance from Lewandowski.

Season stats
Borussia Dortmund were no match to Bayern Munich in the German Bundesliga where the Bavarians built up a 25 points gap to reclaim the title from Borussia.

Despite the big difference, Klopp’s men managed to avoid defeat in the domestic double against champions Bayern, but succumbed to a 1-0 defeat in the German Cup (DFB Pokal).

As I mentioned before, they’ve done great in the UEFA Champions League, Borussia have only lost one of their 12 games played in the competition so far, the second leg at the Santiago Bernabeu against Real Madrid.

Team news
The most important absence will be Mario Gotze’s who has been ruled out with a thigh injury, but I’d say it’s for the best since he already signed with Bayern Munich.

Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich will be seeking to make up for last year’s disappointment when they’ve played the UCL final in front of their own crowd, but Chelsea ended up ruining their night.

Road to the final
Bayern Munich had an easier route to the knockout stages topping a group consisting of Valencia, Bate Borisov and Lille.

Their only scare during this European campaign came in the round of 16 when Arsenal managed to overcome a two goal deficit, but the Germans ended up qualifying through away goals.

After that tie Bayern Munich changed gears and managed to trash European giants Juventus (QF) and Barcelona (SF) scoring 11 goals in the process and conceding none.

Season stats
There’s a lot to say about Bayern Munich’s superb season which could end with the Bavarians winning all competitions they were involved in. They could be the seventh team to win the treble and the first German side to do it.

Jupp Heynckes' men broke a whole bunch of record in Bundesliga like the earliest and fastest title triumph, most total points (91), most wins in a season (29), most clean sheets (21), longest winning streak (14) or biggest lead over the team in second (25).

They have also qualified to the German Cup final where they’ll meet VFB Stuttgart one first of June after previously knocking out Borussia Dortmund in the quarter finals.

Team news
Bayern Munich will be without Toni Kroos and Holger Badstuber - the former ruled out for the rest of the season, the latter announced to be out of action for the next ten months – but both have been out for some time, so Heynckes will probably field the eleven that hammered Barcelona in the semis.

The Betting Verdict

As I mentioned before both sides had some short moments of weakness during this campaign (Borussia vs Real Madrid in the second leg and Bayern vs Arsenal also in the second leg), but overall I think everyone agrees that the best two teams of the competition reached the final.

The two Bundesliga giants have outrun, outplayed and ultimately outclassed all the opponents they’ve met on the road to the final, so it’s no surprise that we have an all German final at the Wembley stadium on Saturday night.

I’d say that Bayern Munich holds the upper hand before this clash, it’s difficult to find a weakness in their squad after witnessing the power statements from the previous rounds when they’ve hammered Juventus and Barcelona.

The Bavarians also hold the psychological advantage of having won the Bundesliga with such a difference and signing one of Borussia’s key players, Mario Gotze.

I never thought we’ll see a better team than Barcelona at their best, but this Bayern Munich squad seems like Barcelona with a facelift, almost the same technical ability, but much stronger physically.

The odds are quite short considering the fact that this is a Champions League final, but I really can’t see past a Bayern Munich success, so I’ll back Bayern to win in 90 minutes.

Barcelona vs Real Valladolid live 19 may 2013 la liga

Barcelona vs Real Valladolid
Football : Spanish La Liga
Venue: Nou Camp, Barcelona
Sunday 19th May 2013 – Kickoff time 21:00

    Match Preview :

Champions Barcelona welcome Real Valladolid to Camp Nou on Sunday evening, looking for a victory in front of their home fans. Barcelona won the title after beating Atletico Madrid 2-1 last week and now it is time to play their home match before the celebrations begins after the match.

By beating Atletico Madrid, the Catalan side recorded their 8th win from ten games and they will not want to take their foot off the pedal with the visit of Real Valladolid who have nothing to play for after they secured top flight football for next season with their 1-0 victory over Deportivo La Coruna last week. They are neither involved in the battle for European places nor are in danger of relegation anymore. Despite beating Deportibo 1-0 last weekend, they only managed one win in their last nine  matches before that.

Barcelona knows that if they can win against Valladolid they will be on course to finish the season with 100 points, which is a record never achieved before in La Liga.

For the record, Real Valladolid have not won at Camp Nou since a 2-1 success in November 1997. When the two sides met at the Estadio

Municipal Jose Zorrilla in December, Barcelona ran out 3-1 winners.
And even though Barcelona could unleash their youngster and fringe players, they will want to prove they have what it takes so get on Barcelona and give the 1 3/4 ball here.

Barcelona Team News :

Lionel Messi, will miss this game a fter suffering a recurrence of the hamstring injury that has troubled him in recent weeks. Barca’s centre-back pairing of captain Carles Puyol and Javier Mascherano are both injured.

 Valladolid Team News :
Valladolid coach Miroslav Dukic has no new injury worries ahead of this clash. Their only missing player is Antonio Rukavina who is suspended. Meanwhile, Javi Guerra, who scored the winning goal against Deportivo, is likely to retain his place in the starting lineup.

Possible lineups

Barcelona: Pinto; Dani Alves, Correia, Pique, Jordi Alba; Busquets, Iniesta, Xavi; Tello, Sanchez, Villa

Real Valladolid: Hernandez; Rukavina, Rueda, Valiente, Balenziaga; Rubio, Perez, Ebert, Oscar, Larsson, Guerra

Chicago Bulls vs Miami Heat LIVE 15 may 2013 nba basketball

Chicago Bulls vs Miami Heat
United States: NBA Basketball Play Offs
Wednesday 15 May 2013 - Tip Off 7pm
Midnight (British Time)

After all the exertions put in by the Chicago Bulls in Game 3, it wasn't a massive surprise to see them fail to reach the same intensity in Game 4 as they were comfortably blown out by the Miami Heat. When you rely on so many players that are usually the back ups, it wasn't that surprising that those role players failed to get anything going as the Bulls had their worst shooting percentage and lowest Play Off totals in their storied franchise history.

Nate Robinson has been brilliant in the Play Offs for the Bulls, but it was his struggles that highlighted Chicago's struggles as he went 0/12 from the field. Relying on a short rotation has hurt the Bulls and they looked tired at times as Miami stepped up their defense in Game 4.

One thing you have to say about this Chicago team is that they have taken their fair share of blow out losses throughout the season, but shown the character to bounce back. Even at the end of Game 4, there weren't too many downhearted players in their locker room and they remain confident in themselves and one another.

However, turning around this series would probably be one of the biggest upsets in the Play Offs in NBA history, especially from a 1-3 deficit. To win three times in Miami, which Chicago would have to do to win this series now, is a big ask without the likes of Derrick Rose, Luol Deng and Kirk Hinrich.

Chicago also know that Miami are not exactly firing on all cylinders themselves so the Bulls do believe in themselves. Dwyane Wade is struggling with a knee injury that has limited his effectiveness, while LeBron James is shooting far poorer than he did in the regular season.

The Heat are also trying to get their three point shooters going in this series, as that is going to be important to them as they try and defend their NBA title.

Miami are also aware of the fight that Chicago have shown throughout the season so they are looking to close the show on Wednesday night. The team are still very focused on the task at hand and I think it would be a big surprise if the series heads back to Chicago later this week.

                                      Head to Head

Miami have improved to 5-3 against the Chicago Bulls this season.

However, the Heat are only 2-2 in their 4 home games against them.

                                         Prediction

Chicago looked incredibly tired in Game 4 as the Miami Heat defense caused some issues, but the open shots being missed says it was more to with fatigue than anything else that the Bulls had a hard time.

While the last game was incredibly low-scoring, I think the layers have made the 181 total points a little too low in this one, especially if the open shots are made.

Memphis Grizzlies vs Oklahoma City Thunder live 15 may 2013 nba basketball

                Memphis Grizzlies vsOklahoma City Thunder
United States:    NBA Basketball Play Offs
                        Wednesday 15 May 2013 - Tip Off 9:30pm
                                       2:30am (British Time)

The FedExForum must have had a sense of deja vu as Game 4 of their Western Conference Semi Final against the Oklahoma City Thunder went into overtime. Two years ago, at the exact same stage of the Play Offs, the Thunder beat the Grizzlies in triple overtime to level the series at 2-2, a series  they went on to win 4-3.

Russell Westbrook was the star of the show two years ago, but his absence continues to cast a shadow over this series. Without him, the Thunder couldn't hold off Memphis this time and they are now in a tough spot as they trail 3-1 in the series after their third consecutive loss.

Kevin Durant has been taking over the scoring, but he has struggled in the fourth quarter and overtime in the last two games, going just 3/17 from the field. He even missed three free throws at crucial times in those games and now has to improve his 1-3 record in elimination games, while the critics formerly on LeBron James' case have moved to him.

Unfortunately for Oklahoma City, they have struggled for someone else to take over the scoring down the stretch, an area where Westbrook really paid off in the past. Serge Ibaka found his shot in Game 4, but the likes of Derek Fisher and Kevin Martin struggled and the Thunder were shut down.

Oklahoma City had a 17 point lead in Game 4, but Memphis kept up the pressure and now are in a commanding position. However, the franchise is in uncharted territory as they have never played in the Western Conference Finals so there is no doubt they will have some pressure on their shoulders.

Lionel Hollins has also made his team aware that Oklahoma City are not to be under-estimated as they will be desperate in front of their own fans. The fact that all four games have been decided in the final two minutes suggests there is every chance the Thunder can find themselves back in this series and definitely force the issue to take the series back to Memphis.

Both teams are comfortable with the way the games have gone so far, so little adjustments are expected in Game 5 as both know what the other is capable of doing now.

                                        Head to Head

Memphis lead the season series 5-2 thanks to their win in Game 4.

The four games at the Chesapeake Arena have been split 2-2.

                                        Prediction

I am expecting another close game in the series and I think both teams are capable of making this a high-scoring encounter.

With Serge Ibaka finding his shot and both getting inside the paint to the foul line, the game could be extended, while they have been so closely matched that another overtime game isn't out of the question.

Benfica Lisbon vs FC Chelsea live 15 may 2013 final uefa chammions league

                                       Benfica Lisbon vs FC Chelsea
  UEFA Europa League Final
Match date: 15 May 2013 - Kick Off Time: 18:45 GMT
Venue: Amsterdam ArenA, Netherlands
 Referee:‬ B. Kuipers‎

Match Preview :

Just a year after winning the Champions League, Chelsea will now aim to lift the Europa League when they clash with Portuguese outfit Benfica tonight.

Chelsea reached the final after winning 2-1 in Switzerland against Basel before securing a 3-1 victory at home in their semi-final tie. But for Benfica, they had to come back against Turkish side Fenerbahce after losing the first leg 1-0 in Turkey before securing a 3-1 win on their own soil to book their spot in the final of the competition.

Benfica comes into this match with a defeat to Porto in their domestic comeptition. However, it has still been an impressive season for them as they have lost just five times in all competition. Benfica also managed 23 out of 29 wins in the Portuguese Superliga.

Chelsea meanwhile looks set to secure third place in the Premiership and a place in the Champions League next season. However, before Rafa Benitez leaves the club, with Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho odds-on to replace Rafael Benitez at the end of the campaign, he will want to add to his cv the Europa League with Chelsea.

The two sides last met in the Champions League quarter-finals last season, with Chelsea winning 1-0 in Portugal before claiming a 2-1 victory at Stamford Bridge to book a last-four spot against Barcelona, in which they went on to win the title against Bayern Munich.

Form:

Benfica - L W W D L
Chelsea - W W W D W

Team News :

Benfica Team News :
Benfica have no fresh injuries ahead of this match. However, Oscar Cardozo is expected to return to the side after a late appearance from the bench. Meanwhile, Andre Almeida is expected to shake off an injury but if he fails to recover, then Roderick will be on standby to start.
Nemanja Matic, should also start in the middle of midfield against his former club. And Nicolas Gaitan will join Eduardo Salvio and Lima in attack.

Chelsea Team News :
Chelsea could miss the services of Captain John Terry, who limped out of their 2-1 win over Aston Villa last weekend. But with Gary Cahill and former Benfica defender David Luiz forming a pair at the heart of the defence, the former England defender was not expected to start anyway if he had been fit.

Meanwhile, Victor Moses is also pushing for a start in this match. Howwever, the former Wigan Athletic winger is expected to be named on the bench with Brazilian Oscar coming into the side to form a three-pronged attack with Juan Mata and Eden Hazard

Possible lineups

Benfica: Artur; Pereira, Luisao, Garay, Almeida; Matic, Perez; Gaitan, Lima, Salvio; Cardozo

Chelsea: Cech; Ivanovic, Luiz, Cahill, Cole; Ramires, Lampard; Mata, Oscar, Hazard; Torres

Juventus vs Cagliari live 11 may 2013 - Italian Serie A

Juventus vs Cagliari - Italian Serie A
                               Match date: 11 May 2013
                             Kick Off Time: 16:00 GMT
                           Venue: Juventus Stadium - Tori
                                   Referee:‬ G. Calvarese‎

While Cagliari goes into this match safe in mid-table, Juventus are keen to better their club points record.

Juventus won their ninth match in a row when they beat Atalanta in midweek. Alessandro Matri scored the only goal that followed with their Scudetto celebrations after that. But now, Antonio Conte’s side are on track to beat the club’s highest season points tally which stands at 91 managed during the 2005-2006 campaign.

If Juventus can get six points from their last two matches means they can finish a point better then the 91 points achieved.

Meanwhile in midweek Cagliari lost at home to Parma. With 11 minutes left on the clock they conceded a goal courtesy of Aleandro Rosi to go down 1-0. And since their Serie A is already secured, they are now winless in their last four matches. As it is now, Cagliari are 11th and have assured a mid-table finish.

When they clashed at Turin, Juventus have won 18 times, Cagliari winning two times, but last season it finished in a draw and they also drew a total of 12 times.

Team News :

Juventus News :
Paul Pogba and Andrea Pirlo are suspended, while Gianluigi Buffon, Andrea Barzagli, Kwadwo Asamoah and Nicklas Bendtner are to be rested with slight injuries. Simone Pepe is also out of this clash.

Cagliari Team News :
Francesco Pisano is the only player absent. Davide Astori and Mauricio Pinilla return to the squad having missed their last match with Parma.

Possible lineups

Juventus : Storari; Caceres, Bonucci, Chiellini; Isla, Giaccherini, Marrone, Marchisio, Peluso; Quagliarella, Matri

Cagliari: Agazzi; Perico, Rossettini, Astori, Murru; Ekdal, Conti, Nainggolan; Cossu; Pinilla, Ibarbo

Match date: 11 May 2013 - Kick Off Time: 20:00 GMT

It seems increasingly likely that the Jose Mourinho era at Real Madrid will be coming to an end at the conclusion of this season and I am sure he will want to go out with a couple more wins under his belt. The whole reason that Mourinho was brought to the Spanish capital was to return to the Champions League to the trophy cabinet and it seems like the best he will be able to offer at the end of this season is the Copa Del Rey.

The La Liga title has been long gone for Real Madrid after a really poor start to the season and then they suffered the disappointment of falling a little short in the Champions League when losing to Borussia Dortmund in the Semi Final earlier this month.

It hasn't seemed to have affected Real Madrid in their domestic League where they have a 9-3-5 record away from home, but importantly have won 5 of their last 7 on their travels including 4 of their last 5. The win at Atletico Madrid in their last away game all but secured Real Madrid their place as second in the Spanish La Liga table.

Any time that a Real Madrid side travels to Barcelona, there will be a lot of interest, although visiting the second club in that city is not the same as playing at the Nou Camp. Espanyol have been inconsistent at home all season and they are just 6-6-5 here while they have actually conceded more goals than they have scored.

Espanyol have actually failed to win any of their last 4 home games, although they had been unbeaten in 9 in a row before losing 0-1 to Granada in their latest home game.

A bigger worry is the struggles they have had whenever Real Madrid have visited in recent seasons. These sides drew 2-2 in Madrid earlier this season, but Espanyol have lost 4 in a row at home against Real Madrid and they have failed to score in any of those losses.

Chelsea vs Basel live 2 may 2013 uefa europa league

    Chelsea vs Basel
UEFA Europa League: semi-final, 2nd leg
    Match date: 2 May 2013
    Kick Off Time: 20:05 GMT
    Venue: Stamford Bridge, England
    Referee:‬ J. Eriksson‎

Chelsea have one foot in for a second consecutive European cup final ahead of their Europa League semifinal second leg against FC Basel on May 2. Their 2-1 victory in Switzerland has given them the aggregate and away-goal advantage. Basel will need to score two without reply to advance, a task made all the more difficult as the Blues have not failed to score at home since a 1-0 defeat to QPR on January 9.
Attendance at Stamford Bridge has been poor for the Europa League ties, with 33,000 fans turning up for the quarterfinal against Rubin Kazan. The supporters are suffering a huge comedown from the high of 2012, but while they are disinterested in Europe's second-tier competition, the players are desperate to salvage some silverware from this season.
Ashley Cole is suspended for the home side, having picked up a yellow card in Switzerland so Ryan Bertrand will be recalled to the starting 11. Frank Lampard is just one goal behind the current club record of 202, and with Ramires having left their last match against Swansea City injured, the veteran midfielder could reach his milestone in this match.
With one eye on the Premier League fixture against Manchester United on Sunday, Rafael Benitez is likely to start with this lineup in a 4-2-3-1.

    Match date: 2 May 2013

Benfica coach Jorge Jesus is confident his side can progress to the Europa League final when they face Fenerbahce on Thursday night.
The Portuguese league leaders trail 1-0 from the first leg in Turkey thanks to Egemen Korkmaz's goal and are fortunate not to be further behind after being dominated for large parts of the match at the Sukru Saracoglu Stadium.
The hosts hit the woodwork three times, including once from the penalty spot, as they looked to put the tie to bed, but Jesus' men held on to a one-goal deficit and the coach is confident that they can make it to the final in Amsterdam.
"It is a result that is dangerous but also gives confidence that we can turn it around," he told a press conference.
"We have some experience of these matches in the Europa League and the Champions League so we are calm.
"We will not change anything that we have done throughout this Europa League campaign. We trust and hope that the fans will also help us."
The Turkish side have a formidable record away from home in this season's competition and have yet to taste defeat, while they claimed an impressive win in Marseille in the group stages.
They also held Lazio to a 1-1 draw at the Stadio Olimpico in the second leg of their quarter-final, but Barcelona are the only visitors to have claimed a win at the Estadio da Luz this season and Jesus believes that could be key.
The Benfiquistas were in league action on Monday night against Maritimo and are facing a hectic end to the season with three league matches and a Portuguese Cup final to come as they try to complete a remarkable treble.
But striker Oscar Cardozo, who has scored 54 goals in 77 matches for the Eagles, does not believe that fatigue will be factor.
"We're fine," he added. "We have had many games but we feel good for tomorrow and I think we will all be 100%."
While Jesus may have a fully fit squad to choose on Thursday night, the coach will be without Dutch midfielder Ola John who received a yellow card in the first leg and is suspended.
The visitors will be without midfielder Mehmet Topal and striker Pierre Webo, who are both suspended, while ex-Chelsea

barcelona vs bayern munich live 1 may 2013 semi final uefa champions league

It has never been done in Champions League history, but when Barcelona welcome Bayern Munich to Camp Nou on Wednesday night they will have to overcome a 4-0 deficit to stay in the competition.
Competing in their sixth successive semifinal, the Catalans were taken apart in Germany by a Bayern side who showed them no mercy.
Goals from Thomas Muller (2), Mario Gomez and Arjen Robben sparked a week of talk debating whether this will be remembered as the time Barca passed the torch of dominance to the recently crowned Bundesliga champions.
On Monday morning, Catalan newspapers Sport and Mundo Deportivo led with headlines which focused on "The Comeback."
